October 25-31: Rihanna Genuinely Happier With Matt Kemp

http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/thatsreallyweek__5/thatsreallyweek-431650466-1288421396.jpg?ymUQVAEDew_1n5QORihanna is the poster girl for bouncing back. It's been 20 months since her heated verbal exchange with former beau Chris Brown turned violent, and she is already preparing the release of her second post-incident album, "Loud." Romantically, she is blissfully happy in a relationship with her Los Angeles Dodgers boyfriend Matt Kemp.

Rihanna is genuinely giddy this time around, she reveals in a cover story in the December 2010 issue of Marie Claire UK. Access Hollywood reported that she told the magazine, "I feel like I smile for real this time. The smiles come from inside, and it exudes in everything I do. People feel my energy is different. When I smile they can tell that it's pure bliss and not just a cover up."

The "Only Girl (In The World)" singer said she knew when her tumultuous relationship with Brown had come to an end.

"One day, I remember I was in New York at the Trump Hotel and I woke up and I just knew I was over it," she said.

http://a323.yahoofs.com/ymg/thatsreallyweek__5/thatsreallyweek-751322860-1288421396.jpg?ymUQVAEDWZxjhuBxBut Rihanna believes the altercation happened for a reason. "God has a crazy way of working, and sometimes when stuff happens you feel like, 'What did I do to deserve this? Why was it backfiring on me?'" she said, according to an Us magazine report. "But, I needed that wake-up call in my life. I needed a turning point, and that's what God was giving to me. All [of] this terrible stuff they say to you, it breaks you down."

Brown, on the other hand, has also experienced his own turning point. Since the felony assault, his career has plummeted until recently. His introspective ballad "Deuces" reached No. 1 on Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and was recently remixed with guest vocals from hip-hop elite Kanye West, T.I., Andre 3000, and Drake.

Brown is feeling better these days, he told Access Hollywood. "Everything [is] good, I'm definitely - me personally and mentally - I'm a great guy now," he said. "Definitely just a person who's promoting positivity all the time, so that's just me," he said.

Brown added that he is also working on recording music. "The new album is called ‘F.A.M.E.': Forgiving All My Enemies. Basically, just being able to witness my success, failure and success again," he said. "Being able to see me going from my best times to my worst times and being able to overcome it and growing [in]to a man, as I was doing it."

Last Saturday, Celine Dion gave birth to twin boys, but fans were saddened to learn that Dion actually lost a third child during her pregnancy with multiples. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon shared their good news, that they were expecting a baby this spring. And Billy Ray Cyrus and wife Tish filed for divorce.

There's been so much baby and couple news over the last few weeks. Let's cross our fingers that next week will yield a good-old fashioned rock star feud. See you then.

A Love Letter to a Camera

Dear Canon S95,

I don't often write love letters to gadgets. But you, you're something special.

Truth is, I've been searching for someone like you for years.

See, I love the huge light sensor that's inside an SLR. It can take sharp low-light shots without the flash. It can blur the background the way professionals do.

I just don't like how an SLR is big and heavy and obtrusive.

What I've always wanted is a little camera with a big sensor. Is that so hard?

Apparently, yes. The problem is covering a rectangular sensor chip with a circle of light from the lens. Bigger sensor? You need a bigger camera. Those are the simple bylaws of physics.

But you, oh, cute little Canon PowerShot S95! I love that you're a pocket camera, only 3.9 by 2.3 by 1.2 inches. I love your big, bright, three-inch screen, your built-in flash, your H.D.M.I. output for hi-def TV sets. I love that you turn on directly into Playback mode, without having to extend the lens.

I love the unique control ring around the dial, which I can quickly program to adjust whatever feature I want: focus, zoom, exposure, light sensitivity (ISO), aperture, even degree of color saturation (all the way to black-and-white). Iron ore crusher

I've had fun with your special modes, like the tilt-shift-lens simulator and fake fisheye.

I love the wink-driven self-timer. Yes, I set up the camera, walk into the scene, and then wink-the picture is taken two seconds later. Beats hunting around for a remote control. (Or I can ask you to wait two seconds after a new person-that would be me, joining the group-enters the frame.)

But above all, I love your enormous sensor. It's 0.59 inches diagonally-88 percent more area than most pocket cameras' sensors. And I love that you have an f/2.0 lens, a rarity among pocket cameras, meaning that you let in a lot more light.

And all of this means that you, little S95, can take amazing, sharp pictures in low light without the flash. Your designers have shrewdly dropped the ludicrous quest for more megapixels-you have 10 megapixels, just right-in favor of something that really matters, like better photos.

So many times I've used you for pictures at night, indoors, in shadow. Cathedrals, restaurants, parties. No, the results aren't as good as an SLR's-you still manage to blur a shot, especially in very dark situations when the subject is moving-but they're light-years better than any other pocket camera can do. I love to show off your photo samples.

You're even better than my last love, your predecessor, the S90. Because you're slimmer. And now you take hi-def videos-with stereo sound. You have a high-dynamic-range mode, where you combine three tripod shots at different exposures into a single photo with a really great range of darks and lights. Your controls are refined in size and placement.

Look, S95-I know you're not perfect. Your battery takes only 200 shots on a charge, which is very low. You won't let me use the optical zoom while I'm shooting video; in fact, you can't refocus while shooting video, either. (Your arch-rival, the Panasonic LX5, can zoom during video. Then again, it's porkier and requires fussing with a detached lens cap.)

And, of course, you cost twice what most pocket cams cost. You're $400.

But you are the best pocket camera on the market. I have carried you for many weeks, in many situations, and I have been thrilled by the sharpness, color, control and photographic success rate that you give me.

Yes, Canon S95, I think you and I have a long, happy future ahead of us. Heck, you may remain state-of-the-art for several months at least!

Love,

David

Feldspar crusher

Feldspar Introduce

Feldspar is the most common ore in the earth crust and it even appears on the moon and in the aerolite。In some parts of the earth crust, 15km under the earth’s surface, feldspar accounts for 60%. Feldspar is the main component of igneous and is also common in metamorphic rock and sedimentary rock.
Feldspar is one silicate minerals which contains calcium, sodium and potassic. Populary speaking, feldspar is divided into two kinds: orthoclase (potash feldspar) and anorthose. The difference between them is the splitting included angle, orthoclase 90 degree and anorthose smaller than 90 degree.

Feldspar Application

As a material of glass making, feldspar is also used as ceramics industry raw materials, this part takes 30% of the whole dosage. Other feldspar is used in chemical, abrasives and electrode industry.
  1. Glass flux: feldspar is the main ingredient of blended materials in the production of glass. Feldspar is high-Al2O3 content and can het melted at lower melting point than alumina. It can deduce glass melting point and increase the total alkali.
  2. Ceramic body ingredient: feldspar works as backbone materials before calcination and deduces the contract and transformation because of dry, improve arid performance and short drying time. It can also improve the light-admitting quality of ceramic body.
  3. Glazing: glazing is mainly made up with feldspar, quartz and clay. And feldspar accounts for 10%-35%. Potash feldspar is the main raw materials in ceramic industry.
  4. Enamel materials: feldspar is the main gradient of enamel and takes up 20%-30%.

History of Halloween

History of Halloween, like any other festival's history is inspired through traditions that have transpired through ages from one generation to another. We follow them mostly as did our dads and grandpas. And as this process goes on, much of their originality get distorted with newer additions and alterations. It happens so gradually, spanning over so many ages, that we hardly come to know about these distortions. At one point of time it leaves us puzzled, with its multicolored faces. Digging into its history helps sieve out the facts from the fantasies which caught us unaware. Yet, doubts still lurk deep in our soul, especially when the reality differs from what has taken a deep seated root into our beliefs. The history of Halloween Day, as culled from the net, is being depicted here in this light. This is to help out those who are interested in washing off the superficial hues to reach the core and know things as they truly are. 'Trick or treat' may be an innocent fun to relish on the Halloween Day. But just think about a bunch of frightening fantasies and the scary stories featuring ghosts, witches, monsters, evils, elves and animal sacrifices associated with it. They are no more innocent. Are these stories a myth or there is a blend of some reality? Come and plunge into the halloween history to unfurl yourself the age-old veil of mysticism draped around it.

Behind the name... Halloween, or the Hallow E'en as they call it in Ireland , means All Hallows Eve, or the night before the 'All Hallows', also called 'All Hallowmas', or 'All Saints', or 'All Souls' Day, observed on November 1. In old English the word 'Hallow' meant 'sanctify'. Roman Catholics, Episcopalians and Lutherians used to observe All Hallows Day to honor all Saints in heaven, known or unknown. They used to consider it with all solemnity as one of the most significant observances of the Church year. And Catholics, all and sundry, was obliged to attend Mass. The Romans observed the holiday of Feralia, intended to give rest and peace to the departed. Participants made sacrifices in honor of the dead, offered up prayers for them, and made oblations to them. The festival was celebrated on February 21, the end of the Roman year. In the 7th century, Pope Boniface IV introduced All Saints' Day to replace the pagan festival of the dead. It was observed on May 13. Later, Gregory III changed the date to November 1. The Greek Orthodox Church observes it on the first Sunday after Pentecost. Despite this connection with the Roman Church, the American version of Halloween Day celebration owes its origin to the ancient (pre-Christian) Druidic fire festival called "Samhain", celebrated by the Celts in Scotland, Wales and Ireland. Samhain is pronounced "sow-in", with "sow" rhyming with cow. In Ireland the festival was known as Samhein, or La Samon, the Feast of the Sun. In Scotland, the celebration was known as Hallowe'en. In Welsh it's Nos Galen-gaeof (that is, the Night of the Winter Calends. According to the Irish English dictionary published by the Irish Texts Society: "Samhain, All Hallowtide, the feast of the dead in Pagan and Christian times, signalizing the close of harvest and the initiation of the winter season, lasting till May, during which troops (esp. the Fiann) were quartered. Faeries were imagined as particularly active at this season. From it the half year is reckoned. also called Feile Moingfinne (Snow Goddess).(1) The Scottish Gaelis Dictionary defines it as "Hallowtide. The Feast of All Soula. Sam + Fuin = end of summer."(2) Contrary to the information published by many organizations, there is no archaeological or literary evidence to indicate that Samhain was a deity. The Celtic Gods of the dead were Gwynn ap Nudd for the British, and Arawn for the Welsh. The Irish did not have a "lord of death" as such. Thus most of the customs connected with the Day are remnants of the ancient religious beliefs and rituals, first of the Druids and then transcended amongst the Roman Christians who conquered them.

Gold Ore Crushing plant

Gold content in the ore is very low. In order to extract gold, you need do gold mine crushing and grinding and pre-enrichment by using dressing method or separate gold from the gold mine. There are lots of methods for gold dressing. Among these, gravity separation and flotation is used more. The two methods’ difference is that gravity separation plays a very important role in alluvial gold production while flotation is widely used beneficiation method in rock gold mine. Currently about 80% of rock gold mine in China uses this method to select gold. gold crusher

Gold mine resources are mainly divided into two categories: one for the vein gold mine, deposits mostly in the mountains, formed by the internal geological forces (mainly volcanism, magmatism, metamorphism), also known as rock gold mine or Endogenous gold; and the other for alluvial gold.

Gold resources are very rare and gold dressing is not easy. Now we has discovered 98 kinds of gold ore and gold-bearing minerals , of which only 47 species are common, and there are only 10 kinds of minerals which can be directly used in the industries.

Canadian Oil Sands Trust falls in quarter

Third-quarter profit at Canadian Oil Sands Trust retreated 31% as oil production fell and costs climbed, the company said today.

Canadian Oil Sands earned C$171 million ($168 million), or 35 Canadian cents per unit, down from a year-earlier C$247 million, or 51 Canadian cents, in the third-quarter of last year.

The company had been expected to earn 21 Canadian cents a share, the average estimate among analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.

Cash from operations, from which the trust pays distributions to unitholders, rose 55% to C$330 million, or 68 Canadian cents per unit, from C$213 million, or 44 Canadian cents per unit, as lower revenues and higher operating costs were more than offset by a reduction in non-cash working capital, the trust said.

Canadian Oil Sands has a 37% stake in Syncrude, one of Canada's largest oil sands miners and processors. jaw crusher

It said its results were hindered by lower production at the Syncrude Canada oil sands project, as planned and unplanned maintenance work cut output from the project's upgraders.

In September, the trust cut its target for annual Syncrude production by 4.6% to 105 million barrels due to a longer than planned shutdown of one of the coker units at its upgrading plant.

Canadian Oil Sands said it expects the operation to run about 19% below capacity for the rest of the year as other equipment is down for maintenance.

During the third quarter, production averaged 96,000 barrels per day, down 17% from the same period last year.

Operating costs were C$39.99 per barrel, up 44%.

Canadian Oil Sands units rose 21 Canadian cents to C$26.69 on the Toronto Stock Exchange today.

jaw crusher is a primary crushing

Jaw crusher is heavy duty machines. They are robustly manufactured. Jaw Crusher consists of a main frame and two plates which move like jaws. Both jaws are adjusted to an intense angle to each other. First jaw is pivoted in such a manner that it moves relatively towards another fixed jaw. The movable jaw plate pivoted at the top on the swing-jaw shaft. In the jaw type of crusher oscillation of pivoted jaw is caused to motion by the action of toggles and pitman, that moves upside and down actuated by the eccentric through the medium of pulleys mounted on the drive shaft.

jaw crusher is built with high class quality ultrasonically tested steel plate base frame, eccentric shaft finished to a high degree of accuracy to give an exact stroke to the pivoted jaw, heavy duty self aligned double roller for smooth running of the machine, high grade cast steel jaw stock and housings, high quality chrome manganese steel jaw plates for durable crushing, well balanced flywheels to break hard rocks regularly, and continuous lubrication is applied to the pitman-toggle mechanism to enable the jaw crusher run safely.
The swing jaw interferes against the toggles by tension rod and spring. To minimize the periodic character of the load on the oscillating jaw, heavy flywheels are mounted of the drive shaft. Jaw crusher breaks rock only during that half of each oscillation. Movable jaw is placed completely to influencing loads. Material should be fed into the jaw intermittently arrested and discharged to fall from the nipped aperture.
Type of Jaw Crushers :
Depending upon the mechanism and application we manufacture mainly three type of jaw crushers.
Double Toggle Grease Type Jaw Crusher with two toggle plates in crushing mechanism uses grease for the lubrication.
Double Toggle Oil Type Jaw Crusher with two toggle plate in the crushing process but uses oil to lubricating.

Elvis eclipsed on late celeb earnings list

Top-Earning Dead Celebrities

Story photo: Top-Earning Dead CelebritiesThe late King of Pop made more money over the past year than any other musician or actor, dead or alive.
In Pictures: The 13 Top-Earning Dead Celebrities
Michael Jackson never graced Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list during his life. In death, the King of Pop earned more in the past year than any star on that list, apart from Oprah Winfrey.
It was enough to secure Jackson the No. 1 spot on our 10th annual Top-Earning Dead Celebrities list. With gross earnings of $275 million, he earned more than the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. Still more impressive: His estate's 12-month haul was greater than the pooled earnings of this year's two biggest living acts, U2 and AC/DC. Jackson's posthumous earnings come from his stake in the lucrative Sony/ATV catalog, the hit Sony film "This Is It" and renewed fan interest in music, videos, and all things Michael Jackson.
"The death of Michael Jackson really put a focus on -- crassly, quite frankly -- what someone's worth when they're deceased," says David Reeder, vice president of Corbis' GreenLight, which manages the personality rights for Albert Einstein and Steve McQueen, among other dead celebrities. "In a more positive way, it exposed consumers to this idea that there actually is a market for, and an enduring legacy for, these people."
To place on this year's list, a deceased celebrity needed to earn at least $5 million between October 1, 2009, and October 1, 2010, usually through things like music royalties (John Lennon), book sales (Dr. Seuss), or the licensing of one's image and likeness (McQueen). To compile the list, we spoke to agents, lawyers, and other sources to estimate a star's gross earnings (before taxes, management fees and other costs).
Coming in at No. 2 is Elvis Presley. The King of Rock 'n' Roll's estate pulled down $60 million in the 12-month period, thanks to Graceland admissions and a heavily hyped Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas. The estate's portfolio of more than 200 licensing and merchandise deals got a nice boost from the late star's 75th birthday celebration as well.
Stieg Larsson, author of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, debuts on this year's list at No. 6 with $18 million in earnings. The Swedish writer died in 2004 at the age of 50, before any of the books in his Millennium Trilogy were published. They have since sold 40 million copies, been translated into 44 languages, and spawned three hit Swedish movies.
No surprise, Hollywood has come calling. A U.S. version of the first book, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, is scheduled to hit theaters next December. The film will be directed by "The Social Network's" David Fincher and star Daniel Craig as hero Mikael Blomkvist. A cut of the money from the American movies (and a reported fourth book) will go to Larsson's estate, which is being fought over by Larsson's longtime girlfriend and his brother and father.
Also new to the list is New York Yankees icon George Steinbrenner, who ranks ninth with earnings of $8 million. The legendary owner passed away this summer at the age of 80, but his estate continues to cash in on the team's success. The Yankees have a lucrative stake in the YES regional sports network, and Steinbrenner's estate receives a cut of sales from the team's merchandise.
Many dead celebrities make the bulk of their posthumous fortunes on licensing deals. Unlike their living counterparts, who can suddenly fall into a heap of trouble (see Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson), dead celebrities have images -- be they glamorous, rebellious or tough -- that are unlikely to change. For that instant and considerably safer brand association, marketers are increasingly attaching themselves to the dead, says Mark Roesler, chief executive of CMG Worldwide.
Take Steve McQueen, who returns to the list at No. 11 with $6 million. The "Bullitt" star continues to personify cool three decades after his passing, and advertisers have taken notice. His image has been licensed to high-end brands like Dolce & Gabbana and Persol sunglasses. More recently, his likeness was used for Tommy Hilfiger's fall "icon collection" and UBS' global "We Will Not Rest" campaign.

Five Scariest Jobs 2010 in American

Jobs today can be stressful, low paying, monotonous or downright unsatisfying, but most people would prefer those situations to a job that scares them.

Certain careers can be scary for many reasons and touch upon a variety of phobias, from the fear of death to the fear of performing in front of large crowds. Although these careers may not be scary to the people who do them on a daily basis, the general public certainly would not feel the same way.

To get a sense of the jobs that push the limit for fright, CareerCast.com, a national job portal, identified the 10 scariest jobs of 2010. The list was produced by comparing phobia rankings associated with each job to see which ones would strike the most fear into the hearts of workers.

1. Forensic Entomologist

cnbc1.jpg

Forensic entomology uses the study of insect and arthropod biology to criminal investigations, from death investigations to detecting drugs and poisons. Forensic entomologists can also be called in for "urban entomology," where pest infestations are the basis of litigation, or the scale of pesticide treatments can be understood.

"It's no surprise that Forensic Entomologist came out on top," says Tony Lee, publisher, CareerCast.com. "Forensic Entomologists carve up cadavers in search of crime scene clues, but with a unique twist — their specialty is not the bodies themselves, but the insects living inside the bodies. Forensic Entomologists can determine the time or place a crime occurred based on the type of beetles, flies or maggots living inside the victim."

Phobias include Necrophobia (fear of dead bodies), Entomophobia (fear of insects) and Hemophobia (fear of blood). Forensic entomologists get the top spot as scariest job, not for the danger associated with the profession, but for the intense, creepy-crawly nature of the work that would surely scare off most people.jaw crusher

2. Miner

Miners are tasked with extracting ore or minerals from the earth, which requires work in an often dangerous subterranean environment.

With the recent rescue of 33 Chilean miners and several highly publicized fatal mine collapses and explosions, it's no mystery why miners have a scary job.

The use of underground explosives, heavy machinery and the prospect of poor ventilation in some mines give potential workers numerous reasons to fear.

Claustrophobia (the fear of small spaces), Achluophobia (fear of darkness) and Mysophobia (fear of germs or dirt) are all fears associated with the mining profession.

3. Broadcast Tower Technician

cnbc3.jpg

The job of Broadcast Tower Technician is far scarier than other high-flying jobs such as sky scraper window washers. Recently, when a video of a technician free climbing the top portion of a 1763 foot broadcast tower (30 feet taller than the Sears Tower) went viral online, many people got a taste of just how scary this job can be.

Broadcast towers, the tallest of which is the KVLY-TV tower in North Dakota at 2,063 feet, require manual maintenance, and technicians must physically climb to the top of the tower.

Often, the only safety mechanism is a harness that can be connected to the tower's structure only when the technician is not ascending or descending.

The main phobias associated with this job are Acrophobia (fear of heights) and Astraphobia (fear of thunder and lightning), which are real fears for Broadcast Tower Technicians.

4. Bomb Squad Technician

cnbc4.jpg

Bomb squad technicians are tasked with controlling hazardous explosive devices — often in populated areas — and rendering them safe. Since even a small error could prove fatal and the job itself places workers in immediate danger, it's no wonder that bomb squad technicians are among the scariest jobs in America.

The profession was given center stage in the 2009 film "The Hurt Locker", but bomb squad technicians are not only confined to conflict zones. The LAPD, which employs 28 full-time bomb technicians on call 24 hours per day, responds to about 1,000 service calls each year, using special tools such as bomb suits, x-ray devices and bomb blankets. According to their website, approximately 22% of the calls they handle are live explosive devices, a scary prospect for even the most highly trained technicians.

The closest major phobias are Nucleomitiphobia (fear of nuclear bombs) and Thanatophobia (fear of dying), although you would also expect most people to have a general fear of explosions.

5. Field Epidemiologist

cnbc5.jpg

Epidemiology is the study of disease in populations with the intent to understand, cure, and prevent infectious disease as they occur. Field Epidemiology, the application of epidemiological methods in non-clinical settings, is generally more risky than working in a traditional medical setting.

Often putting themselves in close proximity to communicable and little understood diseases, doctors working as field epidemiologists certainly put themselves at risk, which would scare anyone with Mysophobia (fear of germs, contamination or dirt) or Nosophobia (fear of contracting a disease).

Although scary for some, the work of field epidemiologists directly serves the greater good, working to build data on diseases in order to treat the cause and prevent outbreaks, which can happen both in urban areas and in poverty-stricken countries.

Battling the Earbud Blues

Do you suffer from crippling anxiety because you're the only one in the room who can't manage the simple act of wearing earbuds?

Do you have trouble making iPod earbuds stay in your ears? Does the least bit of exercise make them fall out?

You are not alone. You, like thousands of other Americans, suffer from Earbud Cartilage Deficiency Syndrome (E.C.D.S.). A Google search for "can't wear earbuds" returns only 93,800 results, but when I asked my Twitter followers who else had this problem, tons of them chimed in. (Yes, that's the kind of rigorous scientific research I do.)

If you are small of ear, you may find that those one-size-fits-all earbuds simply don't fit. They're too big -- or you're too small -- for satisfactory wedging.

Yet the cartilaginously well endowed may be E.C.D.S. sufferers, as well. Too big a socket, and those hard plastic discs, ungripped, simply fall out.

Or, like me, you might have been born without an antitragus. That's the little lower-edge wall of cartilage that would hold earbuds in place. (I never knew of my hideous deformity until the invention of the iPod.)

Fortunately, there is hope. Treatment comes in all shapes, sizes, designs and materials. Indeed, these alternative earbuds may even appeal to the normal-eared, because let's face it: standard earbuds can be uncomfortable. They are three things that your ears are not: hard, perfectly round and uni-size.

Here are the four categories of E.C.D.S. solutions. (I didn't consider full-cup headphones, on the premise that they would diminish your reputation in public even further.)

buds1.jpg

Devices for a better fit: (from top) the Earbudi, Comply foam tips and Yurbuds silicone covers.

Earbud Grippers

The first approach is to fasten something onto your existing earbuds to make them grippier or more comfortable. Like EarBudis ($10), for example. (It's pronounced "ear buddies." Ear booties would be something else altogether.) They're rubber over-ear hooks that snap onto standard Apple earbuds.

They do hold up the earbuds, but do nothing for their hard, round bigness. If they weren't comfortable before, they won't be now.

Comply Whoomps ($20 for two pairs) are narrow foam cylinder extensions for your existing earbuds. Again, the idea is to grip your ear canal more strongly without making you buy new earbuds. Unfortunately, although the foam is grippy, it becomes uncomfortable quickly.

Yurbuds ($20) are curved silicone funnels that snap onto standard cheapo earbuds. They make the earbuds softer, increase their grip and enhance the audio. You're supposed to send a photo of a quarter next to your ear so that you order exactly the right size. They work great. However, for the antitragus-deprived even Yurbuds aren't fallout-proof.

Built-In Hooks

Another solution: earbuds with built-in, over-ear hooks. (They may interfere with glasses.)

buds2.jpg

Over-ear styles include (from top) the Philips SHQ300, Sony's MDR AS20J and Bang & Olufsen.

Philips SHQ3000's ($16) are bright orange waterproof earbuds. You can run in the rain, you can rinse them under the faucet, and you can sweat enthusiastically without short-circuiting. They come with a clothes clip (reduces cable strain so they won't yank out), a carrying case and comfortable rubber-dome earbud tips in several sizes. Too bad the sound is so muffled.

Sony's MDR J10 earbuds are even cheaper: $8. Sure, they're chintzy plastic. But they hook nicely over your ear, positioning the integrated speaker bud without any cartilage assistance. The sound is surprisingly crisp and rich; you'd never guess they cost $8. (You'd guess $11 at least.)

Sony also makes the MDR AS20J ($13), whose black rubber "hook" doesn't go just over your ear -- it's kidney-shaped, so it goes all the way around. This design is ideal for the antitragus-challenged; heck, these would stay on even if you were also missing your tragus, scapha, concha and earlobe. They sound easily as good as the regular iPod earbuds.

Bang & Olufsen's earhook earphones ($160) aren't nearly as successful. They're stylish, of course, and they adjust in three ways: the hook opens and closes, the earbud slides higher or lower, and the earbud rotates in or out. But the actual buds are hard, round disks like iPod's, so they're not comfortable. They also take a lot of fiddling to put on.

Headband Style

Sony's streak of successful cheap plastic continues with the MDR AS35W ($20). It's a foldable headband that bends the earbuds right into your ears. Incredibly lightweight (and cheap-feeling), they're incredibly comfortable, and they would stay on even if you had no ears at all.

In-Ear

Audio aficionados reject the standard music player earbuds not because they fall out, but because they're cheap and don't sound very good. They'd much rather buy in-ear earphones, whose rubber or foam tips wedge all the way inside your ear canal.

That design does more than prevent fallouts. It also blocks external sound, giving you a bit of noise reduction on, for example, plane rides (and making them more dangerous for biking and jogging). And by sealing your ear, these deliver far better sound.

buds3.jpg

The in-ear style of the Etymotic HF3 (top) and Klipsch X10i also help to block street noise.

Each type comes with different tips: silicone domes, triple-flange stoppers, foam cylinders and so on. The hope is that you can find a tip type that feels comfortable for long hours and still seals your ear.

In-ear phones can cost more than the music player itself -- but that's no deterrent to music fans. It's like a photographer buying a lens that costs more than the camera.

The price range is enormous. Skullcandy has a whole range of inexpensive in-ears, like the 50/50 ($45). They come with a cool, colorful and fabric-covered cord, playback/volume controls right on the cable, three sizes of tips and even a microphone for use with the iPhone or iPod Touch. Unfortunately, the sound is nothing like what you'd get with the more expensive in-ear types.

In creating its Metal Remix Remote ($70), V-Moda pulled out all the stops to keep them on your head. You get four sizes of tips, a shirt clip and even optional over-ear hooks. (The hooks have "Active Flex technology," which, as far as I can tell, means they're a little bendy.) The only thing that would do a better job of keeping these earbuds in place would be Super Glue.

Handily enough, you get playback and volume controls on the cord, too. crusher

The Etymotic HF3 ($180) also has cord controls -- and a microphone. These come with a bunch of tips, and you can also pay $100 more to get custom-fitted tips that are molded (by a local audiologist) to your exact ear shape.

My favorites were the Klipsch x10i. Yeah, they're $350, but they sound absolutely amazing; at half volume, you get the same sound you would at full from lesser buds. You get five sets of tips, cord controls and a shirt clip. The tips are oval instead of round, and therefore extremely comfortable.

Basalt Crusher

Basalt quarry is a common extrusive volcanic rock. It is usually grey to black and fine-grained due to rapid cooling of lava at the surface of a planet. this may be porphyritic containing larger crystals in a fine matrix, or vesicular, or frothy scoria. Unweathered basalt colour is black or grey.
In basalt quarry, what we usually used in basalt mining are basalt crusher. Usually basalt is used as buiding materials for road, railway, runway, so we must crush basalt into such size of basalt particle.
basalt crusher is the most important crushing equipment in basalt mining quarry.
The design of a stone crushing production line is usually decided by several factors:
1) raw materials to be crushed
2) The hardness, percentage of Si, moisture percentage of the raw materials
3) The average size of the raw materials before entering into the crushing system
4Requested product sizes, percentage of the sizes, and their usage
5) hour capacity of the crushing line

basalt crusher manufactured by SBM can meet different clients in mining and quarrying industry. As a major Basalt crushing equipment manufacturer, SBM has developed metal Basalt equipment, nonmetal Basalt equipment and other quarry crushing equipment.

In the highway asphalt concrete road surface, both SMA and Super pave technology need high requirement of the shape and rank of aggregate. Especially to the content of needle plate type in the basalt, the former impact crusher processing chart cannot meet the requirement any longer. Therefore, our company puts up the newest crushing and screening processing chart-VI series of Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher to meet the need. The high-quality aggregate produced by this production line is widely used in road surface of many highways.

The End of the Earth Postponed - 2012

The Kukulkan pyramid stands at the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula July 7, 2007. Chichen Itza is one of the contenders of th News – The Kukulkan pyramid stands at the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza in Mexico's Yucatan peninsula July 7, …

It's a good news/bad news situation for believers in the 2012 Mayan apocalypse. The good news is that the Mayan "Long Count" calendar may not end on Dec. 21, 2012 (and, by extension, the world may not end along with it). The bad news for prophecy believers? If the calendar doesn't end in December 2012, no one knows when it actually will - or if it has already.

A new critique, published as a chapter in the new textbook "Calendars and Years II: Astronomy and Time in the Ancient and Medieval World" (Oxbow Books, 2010), argues that the accepted conversions of dates from Mayan to the modern calendar may be off by as much as 50 or 100 years. That would throw the supposed and overhyped 2012 apocalypse off by decades and cast into doubt the dates of historical Mayan events. (The doomsday worries are based on the fact that the Mayan calendar ends in 2012, much as our year ends on Dec. 31.)

The Mayan calendar was converted to today's Gregorian calendar using a calculation called the GMT constant, named for the last initials of three early Mayanist researchers. Much of the work emphasized dates recovered from colonial documents that were written in the Mayan language in the Latin alphabet, according to the chapter's author, Gerardo Aldana, University of California, Santa Barbara professor of Chicana and Chicano Studies.

Later, the GMT constant was bolstered by American linguist and anthropologist Floyd Lounsbury, who used data in the Dresden Codex Venus Table, a Mayan calendar and almanac that charts dates relative to the movements of Venus.

"He took the position that his work removed the last obstacle to fully accepting the GMT constant," Aldana said in a statement. "Others took his work even further, suggesting that he had proven the GMT constant to be correct."

But according to Aldana, Lounsbury's evidence is far from irrefutable.

"If the Venus Table cannot be used to prove the FMT as Lounsbury suggests, its acceptance depends on the reliability of the corroborating data," he said. That historical data, he said, is less reliable than the Table itself, causing the argument for the GMT constant to fall "like a stack of cards."

Aldana doesn't have any answers as to what the correct calendar conversion might be, preferring to focus on why the current interpretation may be wrong. Looks like end-of-the-world theorists may need to find another ancient calendar on which to pin their apocalyptic hopes.

Ball mill used in stone crushing plant and ore processing plant

Ball mill is the most common powder making machine used in stone crushing and grinding process, and ore grinding process.

Ball mill is an efficient tool for grinding many materials into fine powder. The Ball Mill is used to grind many kinds of mine and other materials, or to select the mine. It is widely used in building material, chemical industry, etc. There are two ways of grinding: the dry process and the wet process. It can be divided into tabular type and flowing type according to different forms of discharging material.

Two low-cost tablets that don't deliver

If you're in the market for a tablet computer and have been doing your homework, you've no doubt run into a few low-cost models and maybe even been tempted by them. We tried out a couple and offer our first impressions below.

Archos 7 Home Tablet ($185). This 7-inch tablet uses an early version of Android, which had a very high tendency to crash. In addition, the marketplace for apps is not Google's Android Apps Market, but rather Archos' own more-limited store.

The display is a resistive touch screen. We had to press hard with our fingers to select items on the screen, and there was often a delay before the device responded. It was also very inaccurate. A stylus might have made using the touchscreen easier, but none was included.

Although you can zoom using the Archos, this function does not work as intuitively as on the iPad. The display is locked in landscape mode except when you're reading books, when it's locked in portrait mode.

Among the included apps is an e-book reader, but pages turned slowly, and the text quality wasn't up to par. There's an included e-mail app, but we couldn't open attachments. In addition, Adobe Flash isn't supported, so you'll need a separate app to view YouTube videos or perform other tasks that require Flash.

Augen GenTouch78 ($180). Like the Archos 7, the 7-inch GenTouch78 uses an early version of Android and has its own apps marketplace. And its touchscreen also uses resistive technology. It was extremely difficult to scroll, and we often accidentally opened an app instead of simply scrolling up or down. When we did want to open an app or perform some other function that required pressing the display, we had to try multiple times before we could successfully do what we wanted. ball mill

The Augen's app store left a lot to be desired. For example, two of the top "hot" apps we saw when we visited the marketplace were porn-related. We also had difficulty downloading apps.

Video play didn't go smoothly either. One test unit didn't display videos at all, and the other had no sound.

The navigation keys (Back, Home, Search, and Menu) are located on the back of the device, so you either have to memorize the location of each or keep flipping the device over to use the buttons.

The GenTouch78 is sold at Kmart.

CR's Take: At this point in the development of the tablet market, the old adage applies: You get what you pay for. If you want a tablet, be prepared to invest at least $500 in an iPad, wait a few weeks until new product intros really start to ramp up, or if you're more flexible, buy a netbook.

Oil change reignites debate over GPS trackers

SAN FRANCISCO – Yasir Afifi, a 20-year-old computer salesman andcommunity college student, took his car in for an oil change earlier this month and his mechanic spotted an odd wire hanging from the undercarriage.

The wire was attached to a strange magnetic device that puzzled Afifi and the mechanic. They freed it from the car and posted images of it online, asking for help in identifying it.

Two days later, FBI agents arrived at Afifi's Santa Clara apartment and demanded the return of their property — a global positioning system tracking device now at the center of a raging legal debate over privacy rights.

One federal judge wrote that the widespread use of the device was straight out of George Orwell's novel, "1984".

"By holding that this kind of surveillance doesn't impair an individual's reasonable expectation of privacy, the panel hands the government the power to track the movements of every one of us, every day of our lives," wrote Alex Kozinski, the chief judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a blistering dissent in which a three-judge panel from his court ruled that search warrants weren't necessary for GPS tracking.

But other federal and state courts have come to the opposite conclusion.

Law enforcement advocates for the devices say GPS can eliminate time-consuming stakeouts and old-fashioned "tails" with unmarked police cars. The technology had a starring role in the HBO cops-and-robbers series "The Wire" and police use it to track every type of suspect — from terrorist to thieves stealing copper from air conditioners.

That investigators don't need a warrant to use GPS tracking devices in California troubles privacy advocates, technophiles, criminal defense attorneys and others.

The federal appeals court based in Washington D.C. said in August that investigators must obtain a warrant for GPS in tossing out the conviction and life sentence of Antoine Jones, a nightclub owner convicted of operating a cocaine distribution ring. That court concluded that the accumulation of four-weeks worth of data collected from a GPS on Jones' Jeep amounted to a government "search" that required a search warrant.

Judge Douglas Ginsburg said watching Jones' Jeep for an entire month rather than trailing him on one trip made all the difference between surveilling a suspect on public property and a search needing court approval.

"First, unlike one's movements during a single journey, the whole of one's movements over the course of a month is not actually exposed to the public because the likelihood anyone will observe all those movements is effectively nil," Ginsburg wrote. The state high courts of New York, Washington and Oregon have ruled similarly.

The Obama administration last month asked the D.C. federal appeals court to change its ruling, calling the decision "vague and unworkable" and arguing that investigators will lose access to a tool they now use "with great frequency."

After the D.C. appeals court decision, the 9th Circuit refused to revisit its opposite ruling.

The panel had concluded that agents could have gathered the same information by following Juan Pineda-Moreno, who was convicted of marijuana distribution after a GPS device alerted agents he was leaving a suspected "grow site."

"The only information the agents obtained from the tracking devices was a log of the locations where Pineda-Moreno's car traveled, information the agents could have obtained by following the car," Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain wrote for the three-judge panel.

Two other federal appeals court have ruled similarly.

In his dissent, Chief Judge Kozinski noted that GPS technology is far different from tailing a suspect on a public road, which requires the active participation of investigators.

"The devices create a permanent electronic record that can be compared, contrasted and coordinated to deduce all manner of private information about individuals," Kozinksi wrote.

Legal scholars predict the U.S. Supreme Court will ultimately resolve the issue since so many courts disagree.

George Washington University law professor Orin Kerr said the issue boils down to public vs. private. As long as the GPS devices are attached to vehicles on public roads, Kerr believes the U.S. Supreme Court will decide no warrant is needed. To decide otherwise, he said, would ignore a long line of previous 4th Amendment decisions allowing for warrantless searches as long as they're conducted on public property.

"The historic line is that public surveillance is not covered by the 4th Amendment," Kerr said.

All of which makes Afifi's lawyer pessimistic that he has much of a chance to file a successful lawsuit challenging the FBI's actions. Afifi is represented by Zahra Billoo of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the country's largest Islamic civil rights group.

Afifi declined comment after spending last week fielding myriad media inquiries after wired.com posted the story of his routine oil change and it went viral on the Internet.

Still, Billoo hopes the discovered GPS tracking device will help publicize in dramatic fashion the issue of racial profiling the lawyer says Arab-Americans routinely encounter.

She said Afifi was targeted because of his extensive ties to the Middle East, which include supporting two brothers who live in Egypt and making frequent overseas trips. His father was a well-known Islamic-American community leader who died last year in Egypt.

"Yasir hasn't done anything to warrant that kind of surveillance," Billoo said. "This was a blatant example of profiling." ball mill

Chile Miners Keep the Shades On

The Chilean miners have been free for several days now, and are, we presume, getting used to life on the surface. One thing they apparently haven't gotten 100% used to is the sunlight. The miners are still wearing sunglasses, and many online searchers are wondering why.

Photos: The dramatic rescue effort

Oakley donated pairs of their fancy shades to the miners in an effort to help ease the rescued heroes back into life above ground. The concern is very real. According to Dr. Andrew Hartwick, assistant professor at the College of Optometry at Ohio State University, after a history-making 69 days underground, the miners face a risk for possible light damage to the retina.

An AP article in which he's quoted explains that "there is potential for solar retinopathy, in which the photoreceptors -- the cells within the eye that capture light -- can deteriorate."

In the article, Dr. Hartwick goes on to explain that there is also a "comfort factor" to the miners wearing shades. "Just like when you walk out of a dark movie theater, ball mill it's uncomfortable in the light," he said. "It takes a few minutes for vision to return, and the retina needs to reset itself depending on light levels."

Considering the miners were trapped underground since early August, they emerged in remarkably good health. This can be largely attributed to the physical regimens they stuck to while underground. They stayed on a strict diet, "including a chocolate drink to boost nutrition and a regimen of aspirin to guard against blood clots during the journey to the surface."

Not surprisingly, Web searches on the specific sunglasses are through the roof. Over the past 24 hours, online lookups for "oakley sunglasses" and "chile miner oakley sunglasses" have both surged well over 1,000%. However, fans of the spiffy sunglasses should be aware that they run around $180 per pair.

ball mill overview

Ball mill is crucial equipment for grinding after materials are crushed. It is an efficient tool for grinding various materials into powder.

Ball mill widely applied in cement industry, chemical industry, new building materials, fire-resistant materials, fertilizer, porcelain and glass industry etc.

It has two ways of grinding: dry process and wet process.

ball mill overview

Ball mill a horizontal type and tubular running, has two warehouses. It runs along the outside gear. Materials spirally and evenly enter the first warehouse along the input hollow axis by input devices. In the ball mill' warehouse, there is a ladder scale board or ripple scale board.Steel balls of different specifications are installed in the scale board. When the barrel body rotates, centrifugal force is produced. At the same time, the steel balls are carried to some height and then fall to grind and strike the material. After being grinded coarsely in the first warehouse, the material then enters into the second warehouse for regrinding. In the end, the powder is discharges by output material board.

Chile rescue capsule lowered into shaft for tests

SAN JOSE MINE, Chile – The missile-like capsule that will carry 33 miners to fresh air and freedom was lowered into a nearly half-mile-long rescue tunnel Tuesday night. Steam rushed from the hole into the frigid desert air — a sign of the humid, sauna-like conditions the men have endured for 69 days.

Chilean President Sebastian Pinera patted the side of the custom-built capsule proudly as the last act of the mine collapse ordeal approached. No one in history has been trapped underground so long and survived.

"We made a promise to never surrender, and we kept it," Pinera said earlier as he waited to greet the miners, whose endurance and unity captivated the world as Chile meticulously prepared their rescue.

Mining Minister Laurence Golborne said he hoped that the first of the 33 miners would still emerge before midnight — several hours later than what Pinera had previously announced. Goldborne said that's because the capsule would be lowered "very slowly" for methodical testing with a rescue worker inside once all the cables are attached and tested.

A mine rescue expert will be lowered in the capsule and raised again to test it, and then that rescuer and a Navy special forces paramedic will be lowered to the men to prepare them for the trip. Only then can the first miner be pulled to safety. It is expected to take as many as 36 hours for the last miner to be rescued.

Families and reporters huddled around televisions and bonfires as a preliminary list of the order of rescue was announced. Florencio Avalos, the 31-year-old second-in-command of the miners, was to be the first miner out.

Avalos has been so shy that he volunteered to handle the camera rescuers sent down so he wouldn't have to appear on the videos that the miners sent up in recent weeks.

The last miner out is also decided: Shift foreman Luis Urzua, whose leadership was credited for helping the men endure 17 days with no contact from the outside world after the collapse. The men made 48 hours worth of rations last that entire time before rescue crews could drill holes to them and send down more food.

Janette Marin, sister-in-law of miner Dario Segovia, said the order of rescue doesn't matter. "What matters is that he is getting out, that they are all getting out.

"This won't be a success unless they all get out," she added, echoing a feeling of solidarity that the miners and people across Chile have expressed.

The paramedics are empowered to change the order of rescue based on a brief medical check once they're down below with the miners. First out will be those best able to handle any difficulties and tell their comrades what to expect. Then, the weakest and the ill — in this case, about 10 suffer from hypertension, diabetes, dental and respiratory infections and skin lesions from the mine's oppressive humidity. The last should be people who are both physically fit and strong of character.

Chile has taken extensive precautions to ensure the miners' privacy, using a screen to block the top of the shaft from more than 1,000 journalists at the scene.

The miners will be ushered through an inflatable tunnel, like those used in sports stadiums, to an ambulance for a trip of several hundred yards (meters) to a triage station for an immediate medical check. They will gather with a few family members, in an area also closed to the media, before being transported by helicopter to a hospital.

Each ride up the shaft is expected to take about 20 minutes, and authorities expect they will be able to haul up roughly one miner per hour. When the last man surfaces, it promises to end a national crisis that began when 700,000 tons of rock collapsed on Aug. 5, sealing the miners into the lower reaches of the gold andcopper mine.

The only media allowed to record them coming out of the shaft will be a government photographer and Chile's state television channel, whose live broadcast will be delayed by 30 seconds or more to prevent the release of anything unexpected.

The worst technical problem that could happen, rescue coordinator Andre Sougarett told The Associated Press, is that "a rock could fall," potentially jamming the capsule partway up the shaft. But test rides suggest the ride up will be smooth.

Panic attacks are the rescuers' biggest concern. The miners will not be sedated — they need to be alert in case something goes wrong. If a miner must get out more quickly, rescuers will accelerate the capsule to a maximum 3 meters per second, Health Minister Jaime Manalich said.

The rescue attempt is risky simply because no one else has ever tried to extract miners from such depths, Davitt McAteer, who directed the U.S. Mine Safety and Health Administration during the Clinton administration. A miner could get claustrophobic and do something that damages the capsule. Or a rock could fall and wedge it in the shaft. Or the cable could get hung up. Or the rig that pulls the cable could overheat.

"You can be good and you can be lucky. And they've been good and lucky," McAteer told the AP. "Knock on wood that this luck holds out for the next 33 hours."

Golborne, whose management of the crisis has made him a media star in Chile, said authorities had already thought of everything.

"There is no need to try to start guessing what could go wrong. We have done that job," Golborne said. "We have hundreds of different contingencies."

As for the miners, Manalich said, "It remains a paradox — they're actually much more relaxed than we are."

Rescuers finished reinforcing the top of the 2,041-foot (622-meter) escape shaft early Monday, and the 13-foot (four-meter) tall capsule descended flawlessly in test runs. The capsule — the biggest of three built by Chilean navy engineers — was named Phoenix I for the mythical bird that rises from ashes and is painted in the white, blue and red of the Chilean flag.

The miners were to be closely monitored from the moment they're strapped into the claustrophobic steel tube to be hauled up the smooth-walled tunnel. They were given a special high-calorie liquid diet prepared and donated by NASA, designed to keep them from vomiting as the rescue capsule rotates 10 to 12 times through curves in the 28-inch-diameter escape hole.

Engineers inserted steel piping at the top of the shaft. They stopped short of initial plans for the sleeve after it became jammed during a probe of the curved top of the hole, which is angled 11 degrees off vertical at its top before plunging like a waterfall. Drillers had to curve the shaft so that it would pass through "virgin" rock, narrowly avoiding collapsed areas and underground open spaces in the overexploited mine, which had operated since 1885.

A small video camera is in the escape capsule, trained on each miner's face for panic attacks. The miners will wear oxygen masks and have two-way voice communication.

Their pulse, skin temperature and respiration rate will be constantly measured through a biomonitor around their abdomens. To prevent blood clotting from the quick ascent, they took aspirin and will wear compression socks.

The miners will also wear sweaters because they'll experience a shift in climate from about 90 degrees Fahrenheit underground to temperatures hovering near freezing after night falls. Those coming out during daylight hours will wear sunglasses.

Seconds before each miner surfaces, an ambulance-like siren will sound and a light will flash for a full minute. Officials are calling this the Genesis alarm, meant simply to alert doctors that a miner is arriving.

Many steps have been taken to protect the emerging miners from the media. Photographers and camera operators will be able to see light but little more from a platform set up more than 300 feet (90 meters) away.

After initial medical checks and visits with family members selected by the miners, the men will be airlifted to the regional hospital in Copiapo, roughly a 10-minute ride away. Two floors have been prepared where the miners will receive physical and psychological exams and be kept under observation in a ward as dark as a movie theater.

Chilean air force Lt. Col. Aldo Carbone, the choppers' squadron commander, said the pilots have night-vision goggles but will not fly unless it is clear of the notoriously thick Pacific Ocean fog that rolls in at night.

Families were urged to wait and prepare to greet the miners at home after a 48-hour hospital stay. Manalich also said that no cameras or interviews will be allowed until the miners are released, unless the miners expressly desire it.

The miners' neighbors looked forward to barbecues and parties to replace the vigils that they've held since their friends were trapped.

Several of Urzua's neighbors told the AP that he probably insisted on being the last one up.

"He's a very good guy — he keeps everybody's spirits up and is so responsible — he's going to see this through to the end," said his neighbor Angelica Vicencio, who has led a nightly vigil outside the Urzua home in Copiapo.

U.S. President Barack Obama issued a statement praising the efforts of rescuers, including many Americans. "While that rescue is far from over and difficult work remains, we pray that by God's grace, the miners will be able to emerge safely and return to their families soon," he said.

Chile has promised that its care of the miners won't end for six months at least — not until they can be sure that each miner has readjusted.

Psychiatrists and other experts in surviving extreme situations predict their lives will be anything but normal. crusher

Since Aug. 22, when a narrow bore hole broke through to their refuge and the miners stunned the world with a note, scrawled in red pen, that announced their survival, these families' lives have been exposed in ways they never imagined. Miners had to describe their physical and mental health in minute detail with teams of doctors and psychologists. And in some cases, when both wives and lovers claimed the same man, everyone involved had to face the consequences.

Alberto Iturra, chief of the psychology team, encouraged them to wait at home: "I explained to the families that the only way one can receive someone is to first be home to open the door."
